Development for Peace Organization (DPO) South Sudan and Men4Women in partnership with UNFPA are organizing a two days’ workshop in an effort to formulate strategy for male engagement to address gender-based violence (GBV) in South Sudan.

The workshop aims to undertake a round-table consultation to understand the strategies under use in South Sudan to engage men and boys and explore opportunities for meaningful engagement of men in addressing gender issues in South Sudan.

The current workshop brings various actors to share their learnt lessons and best practices experienced in various contexts in and out of South Sudan that will help to design an effective culturally and socially appropriate scheme of intervention for South Sudan.

The workshop is one of the steps DPO is taking to join the recent global movement to engage men and boys to end gender-based violence (GBV) and increase awareness on positive masculinity to address negative gender norms and harmful practices. The two days’ workshop is being held at the Juba Regency Hotel in South Sudan capital Juba.
