Project Visit at Sebacare 4, Mekelle

Teams from USAID’s Northern Ethiopia Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) and IOM/RRF visited Sebacare 4 IDP site at Mekelle where DPO completed shelter rehabilitation project. The visit plan was scheduled by USAID/BHA – the project donor.

The teams had the chance to talk to IDPs residing at the site. The need for supply of other assistances/services has been emphasized by the IDPs to improve their condition as the shelter repair did. Both DART and IOM/RRF teams forwarded their appreciation to DPO’s Tigray regional team for the successful delivery of the project.

The visited project ended in March for which IOM/RRF and DPO partnered for the implementation. The project supported the shelter rehabilitation of 733 units of Emergency Shelter at Sebacare 4 previously constructed by other actors.

The shelter rehabilitation improves the living condition of 3,665 conflict-affected individuals complementing their resilience to the coming rainy season.

The project is one of the many projects IOM/RRF and DPO partnered for funds obtained from USAID/BHA and other donors.
