Cash Support to Drought-affected Communities in Bore, Oromia

DPO in collaboration with IOM/RRF started a cash support project in Guji zone of Oromia region just this week. The project activity started with a fruitful consultation with the government and local stakeholders.

With funding from the UNCERF, DPO will support 900 drought-affected households in Bore woreda through provision of MPC. The project aims to improve the target beneficiaries’ access for cash and supplement fulfillment of their unmet needs.

The three months project will disburse lifesaving multi-purpose cash in two rounds starting this month of August and ending on October 2023.

This is a continuation of DPO’s humanitarian intervention being undertaken in West Wollega, Borena and Harargie zones with different partners.

DPO appreciates both its partner IOM/RRF and the project donor UNCERF for the project fund.
