DPO had the pleasure of participating on the 2023 Annual IOM-NGO Humanitarian Consultations held at Geneva represented by Global Director General Eshetu Mengistu (PhD).
The 2023 IOM-NGO Humanitarian Consultation discussed IOM-NGO joint approaches to localization and AAP, as well as IOM-NGO complementarities to jointly fulfill related commitments, drive progress on operationalizing localization at the field level, and respond to the current gaps in putting people, their needs, and capacities at the center of response.
The event provided a space for meaningful dialogue with IOM’s humanitarian NGO partners, encouraged NGOs to bring concrete experience on the consultation theme and partnership with IOM.
DPO appreciated the invite to the event and handed IOM and IOM/RRF Ethiopia Certificate of Appreciation for their commitment to practicing localization in Ethiopian humanitarian work.
