In a significant effort to address the urgent needs of conflict-affected communities, DPO is proud to announce the successful provision of Emergency Non-Food Item (NFI) support to 1525 households in Abergele Woreda, Waghimera Zone, Amhara Region. This initiative is part of a larger project funded by USAID/BHA aimed at assisting conflict-affected communities in both Amhara and Tigray regions.
The project, tailored to respond to the needs of vulnerable populations, has already made a substantial impact. In Abergele Woreda alone, 1525 households received crucial NFI support, ensuring they have essential items during these challenging times.
Additionally, the efforts extend to Tigray, where 375 households are soon to receive Shelter Rehabilitation Kits. This step is vital in helping families restore and maintain their damaged shelters, providing them with a sense of security and stability.
The commitment to supporting crisis affected communities doesn’t stop there. A parallel emergency project is underway in Somali, with the goal of supporting 2500 disaster affected households with Emergency NFI assistance.
DPO extends sincere appreciation to USAID/BHA for their invaluable funding, making it possible to reach and support these communities in their time of need. The collaboration underscores the importance of collective efforts in providing timely and effective assistance to those facing the impacts of conflict.
